Gualdim Santos Mendes of Pawtucket, Rhode Island passed on 29 October 2021.Born on 4 August 1938, in central Portugal in the historic Province of Beira Baixa, he was the son of Jose Mendes and Amalia Santos. He was the former husband of Maria Mendes of Rhode Island. He is survived by his two sons Nelson Mendes of Texas and Daniel Mendes of Massachusetts. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren: Marco, Gabriella, Sofia, Isabella and Olivia.
He was an avid fan of the Portuguese National Soccer team as well as
several teams within the UEFA Champions league.
A Catholic mass celebrating all of the traditional funeral rites will
take place at: Saint Anthony’s Church, 32 Lawn Avenue, Pawtucket, RI 02860
Friday, 5 November 2021 at 10:00am The mass will be in Portuguese.
